Welcome to my blog yang baru berubah wajah.... wajah jer lain... tapi isi kandungnya tetap sama jugak la.... Aku bosan giler semalam.... tak tau nak buat apa... sambil lepak2, aku bukak la blog... ahhhh... lama giler tak berubah wajah.... aku pon dah naik muak dengan layout blog aku..... Apo lagi... renovation time.... First step aku cari gambar untuk dijadikan background blog aku ni.... ala... takder yang menarik plak.... takan nak letak naruto lagi..... cari punya cari.. jumpa background sekarang ni dari Bleach... Gambar Kapten Hitsugaya from bleach...... Second step.... aku nak kena cari plak template baru... tak byk template yang cantik la kat blogspot ni..... hantam sajala.... Dah tukar template.... nak kena main edit2 plak yang leceh ni..... aku nak kena edit font color kat link, belah sidebar ni..... sebab color asalnya biru gelap.... sure tak nampaknyer dengan background aku yang jugak gelap..... Aku dah la tak berapa mahir sgt bab2 mengedit template blog ni.... just try and error jer la..... nak tukar kaler aper yang jadi masaalah pulak... sebab aku tak tau color code... cuma yang aku igt #000 for black and #fff for white.... jadi aku main tukar black and white jer la.... Dah agak2 boleh nampak tulisan2 tu..... baru la aku migrate link2 aku yang lelama tu..... Then publish..... dapatlah blog aku yang sekarang ni... walaupun tak secantik mana.... aku tetap berpuas hati.... Sekiaaannnnnnnn

p/s: sesuatu yang tak disangka.... seringkali mendatangi kita..... itukah suratan dalam kehidupan.. atau sekadar.. satu kebetulan.....

TEKAD in New Sunday Times

COMMUNITY service has become a way of life for Hani Widyawani Fauzi and Noreen Izza Arshad. After all, they have been doing it since their schooldays.

So when the opportunity to help a group of students to prepare for campus life and adulthood came, there were no second thoughts. Both of them immediately signed up and are now on the way to their third Tekad Project.

Tekad is a community service project which aims to inculcate qualities that will help mould a young person’s character and prepare him for college and university and eventually working life.

The project, which started in January last year, is organised by the Young Professionals Chamber Malaysia, a youth organisation supported by the Education Ministry. Five Tekad Projects have been planned, two of which have already been implemented. All five are sponsored by the RHB Group

Hani Widyawani, 28, says: "I was also a director of programmes for an Islamic training course for Forms Three and Five students."

She was among a group of volunteers at the Multimedia University Malaysia campus in Putrajaya recently to undergo a Training for Trainers session to prepare them for the next Tekad Project at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan.

At the session, young volunteers, comprising doctors, engineers and lecturers, among others, were trained to conduct various modules under the programme for students. Tekad programme director Aizan Azrina Rosli says: "When volunteers, whom we refer to as coaches, conduct the programmes, their objective is to fulfil five key components, namely goal setting, interpersonal skills, career guidance, importance of English and science and financial planning."

Hani Widyawani, who believes in sharing her life’s experience and giving back to society, says that under the project, students learn to be responsible, work as a team and be sensitive to others.

Noreen Izza, 27, who is actively involved in community programmes, such as counselling for students and fund-raising efforts for orphanages and old folks homes, finds satisfaction in helping others.

The Universiti Teknologi Petronas lecturer is happy with one of her charges, Aznie Syafariz Jamaludin, from the last Tekad Project in Tronoh, Perak. "I have kept in touch with his progress after the project and he has been doing well," she says.

Aznie Syafariz, a 17-year-old science stream student of SMK Bukit Jana, Kemunting, Perak, says guidance from Tekad coaches has helped him build up his confidence and self-esteem.

"I have never got an A before, but in my last exams, I obtained three As — in English, Bahasa Melayu and mathematics," he says. "I have also become more active in sports and social programmes. I have even volunteered as a student counsellor."

Aznie Syafariz’s schoolmate and fellow Tekad champion (as students who have graduated from a Tekad Project are called) Mohd Khairul Rahhim Yamin, also 17, is so happy with what he has learned that he aspires to be a Tekad coach.

Mohd Khairul Rahhim, who says he did not have any goals before, has done much better in his last exams compared with previous years.

Another volunteer for the Tekad Project, marketing analyst Afifah Kassim, 26, says her friend introduced her to the project last year. "I tried it out and got hooked," she says.

Afifah, who has experienced life’s many difficulties, likes the sharing and learning part of the project.

Aizan explains that 120 to 150 students, from Forms Four and Five, are selected for each project. Coaches act as role models and share experiences, inculcate positive values in students while helping to instil strong will and confidence to ensure that they strive harder to succeed in life.

"Tekad emphasises setting goals as well as instilling values such as respect, gratitude, responsibility, trust and risk-taking," Aizan says. "It is also our objective to stimulate students’ interest in English and science, inspire and motivate them by sharing life experiences and encourage them to be involved in community service."

Apart from being the sponsor, RHB also conducts a financial module for students to inculcate in them the importance of financial planning and teach them how best to manage money.

The first Tekad Project was held at Kem Tekali in Hulu Langat, Selangor, in January last year, and this was followed by the second outing at Universiti Teknologi Petronas in Tronoh, Perak.

The fourth Tekad Project will be held at Politeknik Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah in Pahang on July 8, and the last one at Universiti Sains Malaysia in Penang on Sept 2.

It Is The Same Old World!

Assalamualaikum....

Hangpa jangan tak tau skarang ni dah ada yang ingin menyumbangkan hasil karya untuk di'up'kan dalam blog aku nih... Jom kita baca dan hayati msg yang ingin disampaikan disebalik hasil nukilan member aku sorang nih.....

It is amazing to think about how the older generation visualise, strategise and plan for the future. They may not use buzz words, their terminology may not really be bombastic, funtastic.. mister loba-loba. Hence, the 'underlying reasoning' and 'desired outcomes' remain pretty much the same and surely applicable in any generation, as we move forward into the future.

My take is, if they are able to document it, as 'policies' may be, it definitely will 'pass the test of time'. Well thought of, well brain-stormed and always forward looking. They use' historical data' as a guidance, they also used the famous and important modelling assumption of FLLP 'future look like the past' . Just for them, it is all about 'ingat tak tok hang pesan....' , 'dulu, kampung kita pernah bah...' or 'hang lupa ka apa yang jadi kat kita...' all pertinents info. being passed down to us, and is expected to be passed down again so that 'the lesson learnt' will remain within family members.

Talking about 'Control-Self Assessment' , which is getting a lot of popularity nowdays. The CSA was slightly different in the past, esp. implementation. Now, you have the luxury of sitting in the office, everything automated and templates are readily available to facilitate the exercise. In the old days, it is more of ' hang pi dok bawah pokok tu, pikiaq apa yang hang buat salah, pastu, jgn masuk sampai hang menyesai dan tak buat lagi'. Well, that is introspective too, but i guess it is interesting to see how 'subjectivity' element plays some role. Imagine, 'sampai hang menyesai' means, you surely forced to think of your mistakes (losses if it is in the operations!), and think of how you will not do it again (basically, to put controls in place). Bottom line, both 'exercises' will produce result, which one is faster? depends on 'berapa banyak 'hantuuu...ada kat luar bawah pokok tu...' or berapa banyak harimauuu dlm hutan tu... hehe!!

So many things that we can compare with, which strengthen my belief that it is the same old world,only just the application will take different form. Allow me to touch on my last example, which is close to my heart. It has been countless ocassions, that I've been reminded by my mom - this world is a 'vicious circle' and we should try to break away from it,we should try to change our destiny.

Interestingly, it came in different form, which is allright, 'substance over form', right? She said "Tok wan kami buat bendang, bapak tok wan kami pun buat bendang, tok pada tokwan kami pun buat bendang (mind you, my mom stayed with her tok wan!) jadi, sampai bila kita nak buat bendang... tak boleh, hangpa kena ubah benda ni, generasi demi generasi...kita kena naikkan taraf hidup..kalau aku belajar sekolah oghang putih, hangpa kena pi unibersiti oghang putih... "

Reflecting now, it keep me going and i'm sure her 'jati diri' that is running through our blood, and she have achieved her goals, small may be, but realistic and attainable. Who says 'kaizen' is not there in the old days??

Dalam dok punggah-punggah, tiba-tiba aku terjumpa koleksi gambar-gambar lama aku... idea pun takdak nak update blog apakata aku up jer beberapa keping kat sini.

Ni gambar aku masa tadika, cuba teka yang mana satu aku? Kalau berjaya, ucapkan tahniah pada diri sendiri, hadiah pun sendiri beli gak...

Ni gambar aku masa Asasi Sains U.M 1st sem, masa ni kami ada minggu 3+1... Minggu interaksi antara pelajar baru dengan pelajar senior Asasi sains di kolej kediaman Pertama U.M. Best siot sepanjang seminggu ni, dapat kenal ngan ramai member2 baru(awek la beb). Yang kat sebelah kanan aku tu senior induksi aku. Saja jer nak menempel kat sebelah aku, apetah nama dia, Darlina kut...


Juga gambar masa 3+1, sebenarnya gambar ni diambil sebelum kami membuat pementasan pantomen... aku kena jadi mangsa rompakan ngan polis beb... siap pegang 2 watak tu....

Semasa pementasan, aksi aku sebelum kena samun.... Siap kena jerut lak tu... sakit tengkuk aku masa tu.... mamat yang bawak aksi mat ganja tu terlebih menghayati lak...

Budak-budak kelas aku masa asasi sains hayat.. Mana tah la dak2 ni pi skarang..
Juga gambar kelas aku.. ni kat dalam makmal Bio. kena lukis gambar tulang time tu. arghhhh!!!! buhsannya.. aku bukan pandai melukis sangat.
Gambar masa dinner kat Renaissance(btoi ka eja?). Time ni dah final year asasi sains.... Dari kiri Aku, Apai, Anor(ader skandel jap ngan dak ni dulu), Ucop and Rudy
Lepas dinner singgah jap kat depan DTC(Dewan Tunku Chanselor), masing-masing membuat aksi melihat langit, walaupun langit gelap jer time tu.....

Diharap takder yang berasa kebuhsanan melihat gambar-gambar aku... agak-agak kalau rasa buhsan... minta maaf le yea..

Perlukah Memiliki?

Assalamualaikum,

Perlukah memiliki sesorang yang kita cintai atau sayangi?.. Apabila kita sayangkan seseorang, perlukah dia menjadi milik kita? Dulu aku berpendapat, perempuan yang aku cintai, perlu menjadi milik aku.... aku perlu mendapatkannya secepat mungkin, supaya dia boleh hampir dengan aku... Kalau aku tak berjaya memilikinya.... aku terus menghilangkan diri... tiada kesan.. tiada khabar.... Mungkin ego aku.. mungkin fikiran aku cetek....
Tapi sekarang, aku dah banyak berfikir, aku rasa, bila kita benar-benar sayang atau cintakan seseorang, kita patut membiarkan dia mencari kebahagian diri.... melihat kebahgian dia, seperti juga melihat kebahgian diriku.... Walaupun dia tak dapat menerima diri ni, biarlah aku membantu dia mencari kebahgian yang dicari, mungkin setelah dia mencapai apa yang diingini, barulah aku akan pergi.... bagi aku, aku dah penat... aku betul-betul penat utk menacari kebahgian untuk diri aku.... Sebab setiap kali aku mencuba.... bukan kebahgiaan yang aku dapat, malah lebih kepahitan.... Cukuplah untuk aku melihat kebahgiaan orang-orang yang aku sayang..... sesungguhnya menyintai tak semestinya memiliki.. menyayangi tak semestinya disayangi....
